This tutorial was created on November 24, 2009 and is the property of It's Me Again Tuts by Bonnie. This tutorial was created using Psp vs. 8, but I see no reason why it cannot be created using other versions of Psp. Pamela, this tutorial is for you. I hope you like it.
FOR THIS TUTORIAL YOU WILL NEED: Paint Shop Pro (trial version) Xero Radiance here Mura's Meister Copies here Thankful Scrap kit here (click on older posts at bottom of page; will take you to the page for the scrap) Texture here (download Vintage Moss texture) Two graphics of choice Brushes and font of choice
Okay, let's get started on our tag! NOTE: Resize your scrap papers to 900w x 900h 1. Open your supplies in Psp and minimize all but the texture (Moss by Asunder) to your Psp workspace. Shift+D to make a copy of the texture; close out the original texture so that you will have it for future use. Resize the texture by 75%. Resize all layers is checked; bicubic resize type is used. Restore the MelsWorld_bg_1 paper and go to Edit/Copy; back to the texture image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Change the blend mode of the bg_1 paper to Color (L) Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen. 2. Restore the MelsWorld_Oct-frame and go to Shift+D to make a copy of the frame; close out the original frame. Image/Resize. Resize the frame so that is is 308w x 329h. Resize all layers is checked/ bicubic resize type is used. You will be needing two frames, so go to Shift+D to make a duplicate of the frame. Minimize the duplicated frame to your Psp workspace for now. 3. Activate the Magic Wand and click inside the center of the frame to select. Selections/Modify/Expand by 3 pixels. Restore the first graphic you will be using and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Position the graphic over the selected part of the frame and go to Selections/Invert. Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. Drag the graphic layer below the frame layer. Activate the frame layer and apply a drop shadow effect using the settings shown below. Vertical 2; Horizontal 1; Opacity 75; Blur 4; Color Black
4. With the frame image still being the active image, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Position the frame as shown in screen shot below. Close out the frame1 image as you will not need it any longer.
5. Restore the duplicated frame and follow the same steps as listed in Steps 3-4. Position the frame2 as shown in the screen shot below.
6. Restore the MelsWorld_Oct_Flower and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Resize. Resize the flower tube until it is small enough to fit between the two frames as shown in the screen shot below. Apply a drop shadow effect to the flower using the same settings as used in Step 3. Duplicate (Layers/Duplicate) the flower image two time and position as shown below.
7. Restore the MelsWorld_Oct_ribbonwrap and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As new Layer. Resize the ribbonwrap so that it will fit the bottom of the frame (see header tag). Apply the same drop shadow effect as used in Step 3. Layers/Duplicate. Position the duplicated ribbonwrap on the bottom frame. Restore the Oct_Berries tube. Activate the Selection tool (rectangle, feather 0) and draw a selection around one of the berries. Edit/Copy; close out the berries tube. Back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Resize the berry to desired size and position in the center of the ribbonwrap on the top frame. Apply a drop shadow effect to the berry using the same settings as used in Step 3. Layers/Duplicate. Place the duplicated berry in the center of the ribbonwrap on the second frame. 8. Activate the merged background layer. Layers/New Raster Layer. Add some brush effects to your tag if desired. I used the color #651028 for my brush effects. Once you have added your brush effects, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Effects/Plugin Filters/Xero/Radiance using the settings shown below. Strangeness 6; Charm 35; Truth 31; Beauty 229
9. Image/Resize. Resize the tag by 90%. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Image/Canvas Size. Change the size of the canvas to 700w x 825h; click once on the center arrow placement.
10. Apply a drop shadow effect to your tag using the same settings as used in Step 3 EXCEPT change the blur to 6. Layers/Duplicate. Activate the original tag layer and go to Effects/Plugin Filters/Mura's Meister/Copies using the settings shown below.
11. Layers/New Raster Layer. Flood fill the new layer with the color white (#FFFFFF). Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom. Layers/New Raster Layer. Apply some brush effects under your tag if desired. I used the color #A08B38 for my brush effects. Add your name or whatever text you desire to your tag. I used the font Will & Grace for the name on my tag. For the foreground/stroke color I used #651D28 and for the background/fill color I selected some of the background pattern from the tag. 12. Once you have added your text to your tag, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Add your watermark and whatever copyright info you are adding to your tag. Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Crop away any excess white space around your tag. Resize your tag if needed, and save in desired format.
