Tube by Amberly Berendson; Happiness is Scrap Kit by Kittz Kreations

This tutorial was created on November 20, 2009 and is the property of It's Me Again Tuts by Bonnie.  This tutorial was written for PJ for taking the time to help me with something that I needed.  I really appreciate it PJ!  This tutorial is for you, I hope you like it.

This tutorial was created using Psp vs. 8, but I see no reason why it cannot be created using other versions of Psp.

A big thank you to Amberly Berendson for making her art available for us to use.

FOR THIS TUTORIAL YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

Paint Shop Pro (trial version)

Happiness Is Scrap Kit here

Mask here

Carr Electronic Dingbats here

Tube of choice

Chicagogo font here

Okay, let's get started on our tag!

1.  For this tutorial I will be using the HPBlue paper and the Happy Paper7.  If you are using a different kit than the one that I am using, select two papers of your choice for your tag.  Minimize all your supplies to your Psp workspace except for the HP Blue paper.  Shift+D to make a copy of the HP Blue paper; close out the original paper so that you will have it for future use.  Layers/Promote Background to Layer.  Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image.  Select the WynterMask 1903082 from the drop box under the Source window.  Source luminance is checked; Invert mask data is NOT checked.

2.  Layers/Merge/Merge Group.  Change the background/fill color to Pattern and select the Happy7 Paper Scale 75; Angle 0.  Change the foreground/stroke color to Pattern and select the HP Blue Paper Scale 75; Angle 0.

3.  Activate the Text tool using the settings shown below.  Type the number "6" in your text entry box and click okay.

Font Carr Electronic Dingbats; Size 400; Stroke width 2; Anti-alias; Vector

4.  Objects/Align/Center in Canvas.  Layers/Convert to Raster Layer.  Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings shown below.

V 2; H -1; Opacity 65; Blur 5; Black

5.  Restore the HappinessVine tube and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag template and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the vine tube so that it will fit across the top of the dingbat as shown in the screen shot below.  Apply the same drop shadow effects to the vine tube as used in Step 4.

6.  Restore the HTag2 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the HTag2 tube to desired size and position at the bottom right corner of the dingbat (see header tag for position).  Apply the same drop shadow effect as used in Step 4.  Restore the HappyFlowers tube and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the flowers tube to desired size and position over the top of the chain part of the HTag2 (see header tag).  Apply the same drop shadow effect to the HappyFlowers tube as used in Step 4.

7.  Layer/New Raster Layer.  Flood fill this layer with the color White (#FFFFFF).  Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom.  Restore the Happy Frame and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Past/Paste As New Layer.  Layers/Arrange/Bring to Top.  Image/Resize.  Resize the HappyFrame to desired size and position on the left side of the tag (see header tag).  Activate the Magic Wand tool (Add/Shift; Feather 0; Tolerance 10) and click inside the larger frame to select.  Restore the tube that you will be using on your tag and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer.  Position the tube over the frame selection and go to Selections/Invert.  Hit the delete key on your keyboard.  Selections/Select None.  Drag the tube layer below the frame layer.  Activate the frame layer once again and follow the same instructions for the smaller frame.  Apply the same drop shadow effects to the frame as used in Step 4.  X out (hide) all layers except the frame layer and the two tube layers that you used in your frame.  Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.  Remove the X from all other layers.

8.  Restore the tube that you will be using for your tag and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer.  Resize your tube if needed and position as shown on your tag.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the tube using the same settings as used in Step 4 EXCEPT change the blur to 10.

9.  Activate the tag with chain layer in the layer palette.  Click on the Selection tool (rectangle, feather 0) and draw a selection around the chain part of the tag.  Edit/Copy; Selections/Select None.  Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer.  Position the chain so that the top part of the chain is under the dingbat shape on the left side of the tag.  The bottom part of the chain should be under the double frame (see header tag).

10.  Your background/fill color should still be set to Pattern using the Happy Paper7.  Change the foreground/stroke Pattern to the HP Green Paper using the same settings as used before.  Type your name or whatever text you want on your tag.  Layers/Convert to Raster Layer.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the text using the same settings as used in Step 4.  Below are the settings I used for the name on my tag.

Font Chicagogo; Size 100; Stroke width 2; Vector; Anti-alias

11.  Position your text on your tag and add your credit to the artist.  Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).  Crop away any excess white space around your tag.  Resize your tag if needed and save in desired format.
