This tutorial was created on February 27, 2010 and is the property of It's Me Again Tuts by Bonnie. This tutorial was created using Psp vs 8 but I see no reason why it cannot be created using other versions of Psp. FOR THIS TUTORIAL YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING: Paint Shop Pro (trial version) Scrap Kit Fresh here Mask here ( look under Arrows Mask for February 10th) Tube of choice Pass the Chex font here (click on page 11) ~ Okay, let's get started on our tag ~ 1. Open your supplies in Psp and minimize all but the Paper09 to your Psp workspace. SHIFT+D to make a duplicate of the Paper09; close out the original paper as we will be working with the duplicated paper. Layers/Promote Background to Layer. Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image. Select the curves mask from the drop box under the Source window. Source luminance is checked. Layers/Merge/Merge Group. Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).
2. Image/Canvas Size. Change the width and the height of the canvas to 750. Click on the center arrow on the top row under placement.
3. Restore the tube that you will be using for your tag and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Resize your tube if needed. Position as shown in header tag or as desired. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings shown below. Vertical (-2); Horizontal (-4); Opacity 48; Blur 6; Color Black
4. Restore the Pencil01 element and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Resize. Resize the element by 75% one (1) time and by 85% one (1) time. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Position the pencil element on the left corner of the rectangle (see header tag). Apply a drop shadow effect to the element using the settings shown below. Vertical 2; Horizontal 0; Opacity 75; Blur 4; Color Black
5. Restore the Bow06 element and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Resize. Resize the bow element by 65%. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Position the bow over the pencil element (see header tag). Apply a drop shadow effect to the bow using the same settings as used in Step 4. See the part of the top of the pencil that is sticking out above the bow element? (See screen shot below). Activate the Selection Tool (Rectangle, Feather 0) and draw a selection around the part is show above the bow. Make sure the pencil element layer is the active layer and hit the delete key on your key board. Selections/Select None.
6. Restore the Pendant03 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Resize. Resize the pendant by 85%. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Apply a drop shadow effect to the pendant using the same settings as used in Step 4. Position the pendant on the right corner of the rectangle (see header tag). Restore the Flower04 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Resize. Resize the flower by 50% one (1) and by 85% one (1) time. Position the flower on the right corner of the rectangle on top of the pendant03. Apply a drop shadow effect to the flower using the same settings as used in Step 4. 7. Restore the Ribbon03 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Resize. Resize the ribbon by 50%. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Position the ribbon as shown in the screen shot below. Using the Freehand Selection tool (Point to Point, Feather 0) draw a selection around the part of the ribbon that has the tag on it (see screen shot below). Selections/Invert. Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None.
8. Apply a drop shadow effect to the ribbon/tag using the settings shown below. Position next to the rectangle as shown in header tag. Vertical 0; Horizontal 1; Opacity 75; Blur 4; Color Black
9. Apply your text or name to your tag. I used the font Pass the Chex, Size 48, Stroke width 2, Anti-alias. For the text stroke, I used the Paper10 and for the text fill I used the Paper11. Apply a drop shadow to your text and position as shown on the header tag. Apply any copyright info needed and go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Crop away any excess white space that is around your tag. Resize if needed and save in desired format.
