This tutorial was created on February 19, 2010 and is the property of It's Me Again Tuts by Bonnie. Please do not remove my tutorials from my site to add to another site unless you have permission from me to do so. This tutorial was created using Psp vs 8 but I see no reason why it cannot be created using other versions of Psp. A big thank you to Laguna Azul for allowing me to use her scrap kits in my tutorials. FOR THIS TUTORIAL YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING: Paint Shop Pro (trial version) Rusting Scrap Kit here Mask here (look under February 24, 2009) Hanging Frame Template here (will be using the .psd version of the frame) Female tube of choice Two male graphics of choice Twinkle Toes font here ~ Okay, let's get started on our tag ~ 1. Open your supplies in Psp and minimize all but the tishia_hanging frame template to your Psp workspace. With the hanging frame template being the active image, go to SHIFT+D to make a duplicate of the frame. Close out the original frame template so that you will have it for future use. Image/Resize. Resize the duplicated frame template by 50%. Resize all layers IS checked; bicubic resize type is used. 2. Activate the Shape 2 layer of the frame template. Selections/Select All; Selections/Float; Selections/Defloat. Restore the Paper2 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame template and Edit/Paste/Paste Into Selection. Selections/Select None. Repeat these same steps for the Shape 2 copy layer of the frame template. 3. Activate the Shape 1 layer of the frame template and go to Selections/Select All; Selections/Float; Selections/Defloat. Restore the paper6 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame template and Edit/Paste/Paste Into Selection. Selections/Select None. Activate the Pewter layer of the frame template and go to Selections/Select All; Selections/Float; Selections/Defloat. Restore the Paper1 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame template and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Selections/Invert. Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. Change the blend mode of the Paper1 to Overlay. Repeat these same steps for the Pewter copy layer of the frame template. 4. Image/Canvas Size. Change the width of the frame template canvas to 900w and the height to 900h. Click on the center arrow under placement. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Image/Rotate/Rotate Clockwise 90 degrees.
5. Move the frame towards the left side of the canvas. Layers/Duplicate. Image/Mirror. On the duplicated frame layer, draw a selection around the rust color parts that extend into the frame (see screen shot below). Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. Activate the merged frame layer (original frame layer) and draw a selection around the rust color parts same as before. Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.
6. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings shown below or settings of choice. Vertical 2; Horizontal 1; Opacity 85; Blur 3; Color Black
7. Restore the la_buttonR and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame template and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Resize. Resize the button by 50% one time and by 70% one time. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Position the button on the bottom part of the left frame on top of one of the star shapes (see screen shot below). Apply a drop shadow effect to the button using the same settings as used in Step 6. Layers/Duplicate. Image/Mirror. Keep duplicating the button until you have enough to place over ALL the white stars on the frame (see header tag).
8. Activate the Magic Wand tool (tolerance and feather 0) and click inside the middle of the frame on the left side of your canvas. Selections/Modify/Expand by 8 pixels. Restore your first male graphic and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame template and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Position the graphic over the frame selection and go to Selections/Invert. Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. On your layer palette, drag the graphic layer below the frame layer. Repeat these same steps for your second graphic in the frame on the right. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. 9. Restore the tube that you will be using for your tag and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Position tube as desired or as shown in header tag. Apply a drop shadow effect to your tube using the same settings as used in Step 6 EXCEPT change the blur to 8. Restore the la_decoR01 and go to Edit/Copy. Back to the frame image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Position the deco element on the left side of the frame on the left. Apply a drop shadow effect to the deco using the same settings as used in Step 6 EXCEPT change the blur to 5. Layers/Duplicate. Image/Mirror. See header tag for example of how it should look. 10. Restore the la_decoR04 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the frame image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Resize the flower by 50% one (1) time and by 70% one (1) time. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Apply a drop shadow effect to the deco using the same settings as used in Step 9. Position the element on the bottom of the left frame (see header tag) and go to Layers/Duplicate. Image/Mirror. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Image/Resize. Resize your tag by 90%. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. 11. Layers/New Raster Layer. Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom. Flood fill the new layer with the color #FFFFFF. Change your background/fill color box to Pattern and select the Paper6 as the current pattern Angle 0 Scale 100. Change your foreground/stroke color box to Pattern and select the Paper2 as the current pattern Angle 0 Scale 100.
12. Activate the Preset Shape tool and select the arrow10 (or whatever shape you wish to use). Anti-alias and Vector are checked; Line stype is solid; Width stroke is 3. Draw an arrow shape above the left frame (see header tag). Layers/Convert to Raster Layer. Apply a drop shadow effect to the arrow using the same settings as used in Step 6. Layers/Duplicate. Image/Mirror. 13. Using the font Twinkle Toes (or font of choice) type out the words This One? (Size 42, Stroke Width 1, Vector) and position on your tag next to the arrow on the left side of the canvas (see header tag). Layers/Convert to Raster Layer. Apply a drop shadow effect to the text using the same settings as used in Step 6 EXCEPT change the blur to2. Layers/Duplicate. Using the Move tool, position the duplicated text on the right side of the tag next to the arrow (see header tag). Change the text size to 48 and type the word OR. Position as shown in header tag. Layers/Convert to Raster Layer. Apply same drop shadow effect as used for your other text. 14. Add some text at the bottom of your tag under the frames if you wish. I added "Decisions, decisions decisions!" under the left frame and "What's a girl to do?" under the right frame using the font Jester size 24. Activate the white background layer and go to Layers/New Raster Layer. Flood fill this layer with the color #517690. Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image. Select the vaybs mask psp background from the drop box under the Source window. Invert mask data and Source luminance is checked. Layers/Merge/Merge Group. Lower the opacity of the mask layer to 40.
15. Add your text or watermark to your tag. Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Crop away any excess white space that may be around your tag; resize your tag if needed and save in desired format.
