This tutorial was created on September 4, 2007 and is the property of Bonnie's Place. Please do not remove this tutorial, in whole or in part, from my website to add to another website unless you have permission from me to do so. This tutorial was created using Psp vs 9 and should be able to be created using other versions of Psp. ~For this tutorial you will need the following~ Paint Shop Pro (trial version) Cybia's Mezzy here Simple Filters here Xenofex 1 Distress here or Edge mask of choice Supplies here Brushes of choice Will & Grace font here Okay, let's get started on our tag! 1. Open your supplies in Psp and minimize to your Psp workspace for now. Set your foreground/stroke color to #000000 and your background/fill color to #FFFFFF. 2. Create a new image (File/New) 600w x 600h transparent background. Flood fill the transparent image with the background color. Activate the Selection Tool (rectangle; feather 0) and click on the Custom selection icon. Insert the following values in the Custom selection box. Left 0; Top 0; Right 600; Bottom 107
3. Flood fill this selection with the foreground color. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings shown below. Selections/Select None. Vertical 0; Horizontal 0; Opacity 90; Blur 6; Color Black
4. Activate the Selection Tool and click on the Custom selection icon. Insert the following values in the Custom selection box. Left 0; Top 242; Right 600; Bottom 355
5. Flood fill the selection with the foreground color. Apply a drop shadow effect to the selection using the same settings as used previously. Selections/Select None. Activate the Selection Tool and click on the Custom selection icon. Insert the following values in the Custom selection box. Left 0; Top 492; Right 600; Bottom 600
6. Flood fill the selection with the foreground color. Apply a drop shadow effect to the selection using the same settings as previously used. Selections/Select None. Select the three black rectangles with the Magic Wand Tool (tolerance 0; feather 0). Effects/Texture Effects/Weave using the settings shown below. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen. Selections/Select None. Gap Size 2; Width 2; Opacity 25; Weave color #FFFFFF; Gap color #000000; Fill gaps checked
7. Layers/New Raster Layer. Activate the Selection Tool and click on the Custom selection icon. Insert the following values into the Custom selection box. Left 25; Top 0; Right 105; Bottom 600
8. Flood fill the selection with the background color. Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds using the settings shown below. Do NOT deselect. Width 2; Opacity 50; Light from left/top; Color Black
9. Effects/Plugin Filters/Cybia/Mezzy using the settings shown below. Do NOT deselect Interlace; X-lace 59; Y-lace 59
10. Apply a drop shadow effect to the selection using the same settings as previously used. Selections/Select None. Layers/Duplicate. Image/Mirror. Restore the Terry_Get+Out+Of+My+Head tube and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Apply a drop shadow effect to the tube using the same settings as before EXCEPT change the blur to 10. I dragged my tube beneath the two side border layers. 11. Activate the top layer in your layer palette. Restore the goingcrazy_button and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Position this button on the left top corner of the strip (see screen shot below).
12. Effects/Plugin Filters/Simple/Top Left Mirror. You should now have a button on each corner of your tag (see header tag). Activate Raster Layer 1 (background layer) and go to Layers/New Raster Layer. Add some brush effects to the white parts of the background. 13. Activate the top layer in your layer palette once again and add some text to the right and/or left sides between the buttons (see header tag). I wrote "Going crazy ..." for the left side and "over you!" for the right side using the Kalinka Brush font. Apply a drop shadow effect to your text using the same settings as used in Step 3. Once you have added your brushes and text, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. 14. Image/Resize. Resize your tag by 85%. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Apply a drop shadow effect to the tag using the settings shown below. Vertical 0; Horizontal 0; Opacity 60; Blur 10; Color Black
15. Layers/New Raster Layer. Flood fill this layer with the color #FFFFFF. Image/Resize. Resize the white layer by 93%. Resize all layers is NOT checked; bicubic resize type is used. Effects/Texture Effects/Weave using the settings shown below. Gap size 2; Width 2; Opacity 25; Weave color #000000; Gap color #FFFFFF; Fill gaps checked
16. Effects/Plugin Filters/Xenofex 1/Distress using the settings shown below. Edge width 20; Irregularity 50; Edge type Rough
17. Apply a drop shadow effect to the white layer using the same settings as used in Step 14 EXCEPT change the blur to 6. Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom. 18. Apply your watermark or name to your tag. Below are the settings that I used for my text. Font Will & Grace; Size 72; Vector; Anti-alias; Foreground/Stroke color #FFFFFF; Background/Fill color #000000; Stroke width 2 19. Layers/Convert to Raster Layer. Click on the black part of your text with the Magic Wand Tool (tolerance 0; feather 0; Add/Shift). Once selected, go to Effects/Texture Effects/Weave using the settings shown below. Gap size 2; Width 2; Opacity 75; Weave color #FFFFFF; Gap color #000000; Fill gaps checked
20. Selections/Select None. Apply a drop shadow effect to your text using the settings shown below. Vertical 2; Horizontal 1; Opacity 85; Blur 4; Color Black
21. Position your text on your tag and go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Crop off any excess white space that is around your tag. Resize if needed and save in desired format.
