This tutorial was created on December 6, 2011 and is the property of It's Me Again Tuts by Bonnie.  Please do not remove my tutorials to add to another website unless you have permission from me to do so.  This tutorial was created using Psp vs 8, but I see no reason why it cannot be created using other versions of Psp.  This tutorial assumes that you have a working knowledge of Psp.

This tut uses a PTU tube using the talented work of ©Barbara Jensen.  Please do not use this tube or any of her PTU tubes without having a license permitting you to use Barbara Jensen's art.

Tube and font of choice

Okay, let's get started on our tag!

1.  Open your supplies in Psp and minimize all but the Template 19 to your Psp workspace.  Shift+D to make a duplicate of the template; close out the original template.  Image/Canvas Size.  Change the width of the template canvas to 800w  and the height of the template canvas to 750h.

2.  Activate the Large Rectangle layer of the template; Selections/Select All; Selections/Float; Selections/Defloat.  Restore the Paper2 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Selections/Invert.  Hit the delete key on your key board.  Selections/Select None.  Follow the directions listed in this step for the rest of the layers of the template EXCEPT change the paper as shown below.

X out the Right and Left Circles layer.  Apply a drop shadow effect to your template layers using the settings shown below.

3.  Restore the tube that you will be using for your tag; resize your tube if needed.  Position your tube as shown in header tag, or in desired position.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the tube using the above settings EXCEPT change the blur to 10.  Restore the Sign element - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the sign by 65%.  Position the sign on the left rectangle of the template (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the sign.

4.  Restore the Flower2 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the flower by 50% one time and by 75% one time.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the flower.  Position the flower on the top left corner of the template.  Restore the Snowman - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the snowman by 50% one time and by 65% one time.  Position the snowman in front of the sign as shown in header tag.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the snowman.

5.  Restore the Tree2 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the tree by 65%.  Position the tree on the left side of the snowman.  Drag the tree layer under the snowman layer (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the tree.  Restore the Sled - Edit/Copy; back to the template image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Rotate the sled by 80 degrees to the right.  Resize the sled by 65% one time and by 75% one time.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the sled.  Position the sled as shown in header tag.

6.  Restore the Berries - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the berries by 75%.  Position the berries on the right side of the template (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the berries.  Restore the Bow1 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the bow by 50% one time and by 65% one time.  Position the bow on the bottom right corner on top of the tree stem.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the bow.

7.  Restore the MouseCone - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the cone by 50% two times.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the cone.  Position the bow part of the cone on the top of the Christmas tree (see header tag).  Restore the CandyCane1 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the candy cane by 50% two times.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the candy cane.  Position the candy cane on the left bottom corner of the Christmas tree (see header tag).

8.  Restore the Candy1 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the candy by 50% two times and 90% one time.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the candy.  Go to Layers/Duplicate and duplicate the candy 5 times.  Position three of the duplicated candy layers on the Christmas tree as desired.  Resize the three other duplicated layers by 90% and position on the tree as desired (see header tag).

9.  Activate the white background layer.  Layers/New Raster Layer.  Flood fill the layer with the color #ADB7C4.  Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image.  Select the Vix mask from the drop box under the Source Window.  Source luminance is checked.  Layers/Merge/Merge all (flatten).  I lowered the opacity of the mask layer to 76%.  Add your text and your copyright info to your tag.  Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).  Crop away any excess white space that may be around your tag.  Resize your tag if needed and save in desired format.
