This tutorial was created on January 11, 2011 and is the property of It's Me Again Tuts by Bonnie.  Please do not remove this tutorial from my site to add to another site unless you have permission from me to do so.  This tutorial was created using Paint Shop Pro vs. 9, but I see no reason why it cannot be created using other versions of Psp.

Okay, let's get started on our tag!

1.  Open your supplies in Psp and minimize all but the Template146 to your Psp workspace.  Shift+D to make a duplicate of the template; close out the original template.  Resize the template to 900w x 900h.  Bicubic resize type is used; resize all layers is checked.  Delete the title, both element, and journal layers of the template.

2.  Activate the Background layer of the template and flood fill the layer with the color #FFFFFF.  Activate the Blended Photo layer of the template.  Selections/Select All; Selections/Float; Selections/Defloat.  Layers/New Raster Layer.  Restore the Paper4 - Edit/Copy; back to the template and Edit/Paste Into Selection.  Selections/Select None.  Effects/Filter Effects/Nik Software/Color Effex Pro 3.0 Complete.  Select the Brilliance/Warmth effect using the settings shown below.  Lower the opacity of the paper to 85%.  Add some brush effects to the background if desired.

Brilliance 50%; Warmth 88%

3.  Activate the String/Doodle layer of the template - Selections/Select All; Selections/Float; Selections/Defloat.  Restore the Paper1 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste Into Selection.  Selections/Select None.  Activate the white background layer of the template.  Image/Canvas Size.  Change the canvas size of the template to 1000w x 1000h.  Flood fill the background layer with the color #FFFFFF.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the blended photo layer and the String/Doodle layer using the settings shown below.

Vertical 2; Horizontal 0; Opacity 50; Blur 5; Color Black

                                     

4.  Activate the bottom Photo layer of the template - Selections/Select All; Selections/Float; Selections/Defloat.  Restore the Paper4 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Position the left bottom part of the paper over the selected Photo layer of the template.  Selections/Invert.  Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the photo paper.  (I applied my drop shadow effect two times).  Activate the Middle Photo layer of the template.  Follow the same steps used for the bottom Photo layer EXCEPT position the middle of the left side of the Paper4 over the selected middle photo layer.

5.  Activate the top Photo layer of the template and follow the same steps as listed in Step 4 EXCEPT position the top left part of the Paper4 over the selected photo layer.  Restore the Element2 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Position the Element2 on the top right side of the tag (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the Element2.  Restore the Element19 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the Element19 by 50% one time and by 75% one time.  Position the element on the top right corner of the tag.  This element will be on the top of the Element 2 (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the Element19.

6.  Restore the tube that you will be using on your tag.  Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize your tube if needed.  Position the tube as shown in header tag or as desired.  Apply a drop shadow effect to your tube changing the blur to 8.  Restore the Element13 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the Element13 by 50%.  Position the Element13 on the bottom right corner of your tag (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the element.

7.  Restore the Element11 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the element by 70%.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the element.  Position the element on the left side of the top photo layer (see header tag).  Restore the Element9 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the Element9 by 50% one time and by 95% one time.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the element.  Position the Element9 on the bottom right corner of the top Photo layer (see header tag).

8.  Restore the Element23 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the element by 50% one time and by 80% one time.  Position at the top part of the middle Photo layer (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the element.  Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen.  Restore the Element15 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the Element15 by 50% one time and by 75% one time.  Position the element in center of the bottom Photo layer (see header tag).  Apply a drop shadow effect to the Element 15.  Change to blend mode layer of the Element15 to Luminance (L).

9.  Restore the Element22 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the element by 65%.  Image/Rotate /Free Rotate.  Rotate the element by 25 degrees to the left.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the Element22.  Position the element on the bottom left corner of the bottom Photo layer.  Restore the Element10 - Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste As New Layer.  Resize the element by 50% one time and by 85% one time.  Rotate the element by 30 degrees to the left.  Apply a drop shadow effect to the element.  Position the element so that it looks like it is hooked to the right bottom corner of the bottom photo layer (see header tag).

                                           

10.  Hide (X out) the white background layer of your tag.  Merge visible all other layers.  Resize the merged tag layer by 85%.  Remove the X from the white background layer and make it your active layer.  Layers/New Raster Layer.  Flood fill the new layer with the color #CC866C.  Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image.  Select the gemsmasks-126 from the drop box under the Source window.  Source luminance is checked; Invert mask data is not checked.  Layers/Merge/Merge Group.

11.   I added some gears brush effects to my mask background.  Add  your text and copyright info to your tag.  Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).  Crop away any excess white space that is around your tag.  Resize your tag if needed and save in desired format.
